Edible Salt

Salt is a dietary mineral composed primarily of sodium chloride that is essential for animal life, but can be toxic to many land plants. Salt flavor is one of the basic tastes, making salt one of the oldest, most ubiquitous food seasoning. Salting is an important method of food preservation.

Salt for human consumption is produced in different forms: unrefined salt (such as sea salt), refined salt (table salt), and iodized salt. It is a crystalline solid, white, pale pink or light gray in color, normally obtained from sea water or rock deposits. Edible rock salts may be slightly grayish in color because of mineral content.

Chloride and sodium ions, the two major components of salt, are necessary for the survival of all known living creatures, including humans. Salt is involved in regulating the water content (fluid balance) of the body.

Edible salt is available in 1 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg and 50 kg packing.

Snow Melting Salt

KTM Corporation offers salt for ice control / snow melting at very competitive prices. A great majority of injury accidents during winter storms can be avoided simply by deicing roadways, driveways, walkways, store entries, etc.

Salt is spread on surface. Salt melts through snow/ice, forming brine. Remaining snow/ice floats on brine, breaking bond with road/driveway surface.

  • It is readily available, easy to store, easy to handle and easy to spread.
  • It can be used as an anti-icing agent (applied to bare pavement before a storm), as a pre-wetting brine to accelerate the melting properties of salt or applied to snow pack to melt snow and ice.

Advantages of using salt over sand or salt-sand mixtures – Salt is the most economical deicer. You may have to salt numerous times during large or extended snowstorms and salt gives the best results and value for the money spent.

  • Fewer accidents occur on maintained walkways, driveways, etc.
  • People are able to go about their daily lives during winter months.
  • Emergency and Police units can better respond.

Snow melting salt is available in jumbo packing of 1000 kg. Other packing are 25 kg and 50 kg.

Industrial salt

KTM Corporation producers are Industrial salt. Industrial salt is used in chemical, textile and dying industries.

Available in jumbo packing of 1000 kg. Regular packing are 25 kg and 50 kg

Sea salt

Sea salt, obtained by the evaporation of seawater, is used in cooking and cosmetics. Historically called bay salt or solar salt, its mineral content gives it a different taste from table salt, which is pure sodium chloride, usually refined from mined rock salt (halite) or from sea salt.  Generally more expensive than table salt, it is commonly used in gourmet cooking and specialty potato chips, particularly the kettle cooked variety.

Packing are  jumbo packing of 1000 kg. Regular packing are 1 kg, 25 kg and 50 kg

Salt Lamp

Large crystal rocks are used as Salt lamps. A salt lamp is a lamp carved from a larger salt crystal, often colored, with an incandescent bulb or a candle inside. The lamps give an attractive glow and are suitable for use as nightlights or for ambient mood lighting. The largest producers of this product are located near to the source in Pakistan. Salt lamps are very useful for asthma patients treatment.

KTM Corporation mainly export salt to India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Korea, Japan, Bahrain and UAE.
